Overview

An intensive workshop designed for Australian high school students who want to strengthen their creative writing and storytelling skills — whether for school assessments and exams, or pieces written for pleasure and publication.

Kirsty takes students behind the scenes of her own writing process, sharing the sequence she uses to ensure that each step in the creative writing process is directed and fun.

Students learn how to use their own life experiences and observations in their writing, giving their stories more emotional depth, improving the reader’s engagement and allowing themselves the transformative experience of self expression in a creative way.

Students develop their own piece of writing and submit it to Kirsty for feedback. This is an important part of their progress. They will be excited by what they have created and want to share it, and submission is both an achievement and an opportunity for further learning.
