Bernard Zuel (the one and the same who made an appearance in Raw Blue) rates Ryan Adams’ latest record, Ashes and Fire, pretty highly.* I’m worried though. It’s not that it’s not good – to paraphrase RA himself, you can’t refute good music. But what if he just settles down into a country rock holding pattern now, because he’s decided to finally take success? I loved the fact that he was so prolific, and did a million different genres, just because he could. His take was usually better anyway.

The other thing is, I’ll miss stuff like this (SALTY LANGUAGE WARNING):
